Properties
This oil has a very pungent odour.
Origin
It originated in China.
Extraction
It is extracted by steam distillation method.
Chemical composition
cinnamyl acetate, cinnamic aldehyde, cinnamyl acetate, linalool, benzaldehyde and chavicol.
Therapeutic properties
anti-diarrhea, anti-microbial, anti-emetic and carminative.
Uses
  1. It is mainly used in digestive problems like colic, diarrhea, dyspepsia, flatulence and nausea.
  2. It is also used for colds, fevers, arthiritis, rheumatism and influenza.
Precautions
  • Cassia oil should not be used during pregnancy.
  • It should not be used in massage therapy.
