Properties
Elemi essential oil has a  fresh, citrusy, peppery, spicy odour and is clear with a tinge of yellow  having thin viscosity.
Origin
It originated in France.
Extraction
It is extracted using steam distillation process.
Chemical composition
Phellandrene, dipentene, elemol, elemicin, terpineol, carvone, terpinolene.
Therapeutic properties
The therapeutic properties of Elemi Oil include use as an analgesic, expectorant, tonic, antiseptic and as a stimulating agent. 
Uses
 It is used in curing:
  1. Bronchitis 
  2. catarrh
  3. extreme coughing
  4. heavy perspiration
  5. mature skin
  6. scars
  7. stress
  8. wounds 
  9. reduction of mucous.
Precautions
  • It may be a carcinogen.
Blends with
 Clary Sage, Frankincense, Rosemary, Myrrh and Lavender.
